I offer one-day, two-day, and three-day intensives, depending on your needs and the nature of the work you would like to explore. While a one-day intensive can provide meaningful time to slow down and work with important conversations, I often recommend a two-day or three-day format when appropriate. Having more than one day creates space to step away from the work, process what has emerged, and return to our conversations the following day with greater clarity and perspective. We will discuss the options together and determine which format makes the most sense for your relationship.
Each intensive is shaped around your relationship and the areas you would like to address. Our time may involve exploring recurring relational patterns, understanding each other's perspectives, working through difficult conversations, and developing a shared understanding of what you would like to change. There is no expectation that you arrive with everything figured out. Part of our work is making room for what emerges, including the things that may be difficult to articulate or understand at first.
Couples work can bring up difficult feelings, particularly when we begin exploring patterns that have developed over time. Breaks are an intentional part of the intensive, and additional pauses can be taken as needed.Learning to recognize when you need a moment, communicate that need, regulate your nervous system, and ask to slow things down is an important part of the work itself. The goal is not to push through difficult moments, but to develop the capacity to navigate them together while remaining present, engaged, and connected.
An in-office intensive takes place in my private practice setting and offers dedicated time to focus on your relationship in a contained, therapeutic environment.A retreat-style intensive offers a different setting, allowing us to step outside the routines and demands of everyday life. Depending on the location and format, the experience may offer additional space for reflection, rest, and time together between sessions. Both formats are grounded in the same therapeutic intention. The most suitable option will depend on your preferences, needs, and practical considerations.
The follow-up session takes place one to two weeks after the intensive. It gives us an opportunity to return to what emerged, reflect on what has shifted or become clearer, and consider how you would like to carry the work forward into your relationship. The time between the intensive and our follow-up also allows you to begin integrating what you have explored into your everyday lives.
Coverage varies depending on your insurance provider and individual plan. Some plans may offer coverage for eligible services provided during an intensive, while others may have restrictions on session length, reimbursement, or the type of service covered.I recommend contacting your insurance provider before booking to confirm your coverage, reimbursement limits, and any documentation requirements.
The first step is to get in touch so we can discuss your relationship, what you are hoping to work through, and whether an intensive would be a good fit. From there, we can explore the available formats, discuss potential dates, and determine the next steps. Once your intensive is booked, each of you will receive a preparatory questionnaire and schedule an individual video call with me so that our time together can be tailored to your relationship.
